I am going to finish this storyline if it kills me.
While I'm not against the lowering of the drinking age from 21 to 18 in New Zeland, it has never ceased to amaze me how surprised people were when they found out that it meant younger people had access to alcohol than before. Underage drinkers are younger than before? Well, obviously you're throwing the average off by legalising all the 18 to 20 year olds. Plus, some 16 year old who wants to score some booze is going to have less trouble passing for 18 than 21.
Sometimes I wish I could get government funding to present such glaringly obvious conclusions to oblivious MPs.
